In Indian Ocean, commercial tuna fishing is using gill nets and its causing about 80,000 small cetaceans caught as by-catch each year. Between 1950-2018, 4.1 million small cetaceans were caught and the number of dolphins have dropped by almost 90%. beside dolphins and whales, other marine species like sharks and turtles are also threatened by these gill nets.
