In Ladakh, India, experts are trying to save the Near Threatened black‑necked crane by sterilizing stray dogs. Many stray dogs in the area prey on crane chicks and disturb their nests. A conservation team has sterilized more than 2,950 dogs and is also improving food‑waste management to help curb the growth of the stray dog population.
