一艘載有4千噸燃油的日本貨船在印度洋島國毛里求斯擱淺後出現裂痕，近日開始漏油嚴重污染海洋，包括在附近的藍灣海洋公園保護區。當地因缺乏專業技能處理，正向外界求助。當地環境部設置約400道水柵，保育團體及市民亦動手用甘蔗稻草製作浮標，希望在得到援助前能控制污染範圍，減低對環境的傷害。

A Japanese-owned ship with 4,000 tons of fuel was grounded in the Indian Ocean island nation of Mauritius; the ship cracked and is creating massive oil spill, damaging the ocean including the nearby Blue Bay Marine Park Reserve. Mauritius doesn’t have the skill expertise and technical support to handle, and is seeking help from other countries. The local Ministry of Environment has set up 400 water barriers, and green groups are working with the public to make sugar cane straw buoys, trying to prevent further pollution and reduce the environmental damage.
