棱皮龜主要受漁業用工具導致死亡及棲息地被人類破壞所威脅。過去五年都沒有再到布吉及攀牙海岸產卵，但最近的武漢肺炎令到訪當地的遊客大大滅少，棱皮龜再度回來產卵，數量亦是20年來最高。
