Around a hundred years ago, Himalayan tahr was introduced to the alpine of South Island, New Zealand for hunting games. Without any natural predator in the area, the population of tahr became out of control. They are threatening the native plants and damaging the environment. Local government started to shot down these tahrs to bring down the population to around 10,000, but so far still unable to control.
