極危的馬來潮龜(Batagur affinis)曾於2000 年在柬埔寨因非法捕魚、挖沙及失去棲息地而野外滅絕。 經過多年的保育工作及繁殖計劃，保育團體最近在施漢諾省成功把51隻馬來潮龜放歸野外。
Critically endangered royal turtle (Batagur affinis) was believed extinct in Cambodian in 2000 deal to illegal fishing, sand dredging and loss of habitat. With the help of conservation work and breeding programs, 51 royal turtles are released back to the wild recently in northern Preah Shianouk Province.
