There are estimated 200 million invasive rabbits in Australia, competing resources with native species, overgrazing native plants and disrupting its ecosystem. A recent genetic research found most of these rabbits were expanded from a shipment of 24 rabbits back in 1859, from Baltonsborough, England to Victoria in southeastern Australia.
