Tropical rainforest in Brazilian Amazon is turning into savanna because of climate change and deforestation. Study on terrestrial mammals like puma and tapir show that they will struggle with savannization as only very few of them prefer the savanna habitat. These large herbivores and carnivores are very important to keep the structure and function of the terrestrial ecosystem.
