A plan for commercial octopus farm in Spain raised concerns among scientists. The farm planned to raise around a million octopuses yearly for food. Octopuses are solitary and preferred living in the dark, but the farm will keep them in communal tanks. Further more, the slaughter method by using ice water to kill them slowly and stressfully is cruel for these intelligent animals.
