斯里蘭卡的淡水生境至少有30種入侵魚類，包括飾妝鎧弓魚、福鱷、高眼麗體魚等。這些物種主要因水產養殖、野放觀賞魚等被引入，並對原生物種造成威脅。專家呼籲加強監管引入的魚類，防止情況惡化，亦有市民發起移除入侵魚類的行動。

There are at least 30 invasive fish spieces In Sri Lanka’s freshwater habitats, including clown knifefish, alligator gars and Mayan cichlid. These fish were mainly released for aquaculture or through the aquarium trade. EExperts think stronger regulation is needed to prevent the situation to get worse, and some people started removing the invasive species on their own effort.
