There are thousands of harbor porpoises and a common dolphin living in the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. This common dolphin hasn’t interacted with another common dolphin in the past 14 years. Scientists discovered its whistles is unlike other of its own species, but more like a harbor porpoise. This finding suggests this common dolphin is communicating with the other porpoises, and will help scientists to learn more about communications between different cetacean species.
