Some salmon farms in Norway are switching to a mainly plant-based diets for a more sustainable aquaculture. The new pellets are mainly made with soy, corn and wheat, as well as black soldier fly larvae for protein, fat and calcium. Salmons are naturally carnivorous fish; this new diet can lower the environmental footprint for salmon farming and lower risk of transmitting parasite or disease to other wildlife.
