In South America, native eastern fence lizards from areas with invasive fire ants are feeding on these venomous ants. A study found by digesting ants’ venom, the lizards’ immune system gain ability to fight the venom; so when being stung by a fire ant, it no longer causes any negative impact to the lizard.
