In Myanmar, scientists identified 44 new groups of Skywalker gibbons (Hoolock tianxing) by listening to their love songs! Skywalker gibbons were first described in 2017 in China. Because the gibbons cannot swim, scientists theorized their population may extend between two rivers. And with the help of gibbon couples’ habit of singing love songs to each other every morning on the forest canopies, scientists were about to make this new discovery.
