In South Africa, research shows dehorning rhinos helped reducing 78% of poaching in 8 out of 11 reserves. In the past, conservationists and local officials have tried many ways like working with rangers or tracking dogs, or building fence and cameras to combat poaching, but none of those were as effective as dehorning the rhinos.
