科學家發現多款貓狗糧含瀕危鯊魚，而產品成份中通常只模糊地列出”海洋魚類”，令消費者在不知情下餵飼給寵物。他們他們測試了45種產品, 約有1/3含有鯊魚DNA，最常見的包括易危物種如絲鯊及白頂礁鯊等。
Scientists found many cat and dog food contain endangered sharks; most of the product package just vaguely use the term “ocean fish”, so customers wouldn’t realize they are feeding endangered species to their pets. The scientists tested 45 pet food products and around 1/3 of them contain sharks’ DNA; the most common identified species include vulnerable species like silky shark and whitetip reef shark.
