A study observed around 35000 bird nests around the world and discovered 176 bird species are using human waste for nest building. some common rubbish include cigarette butts, plastic bags and fishing nets. Scientists worry these nesting materials can cause harms like entangling birds, exposing chicks to toxins, attracting predators due to bright colors or even increase chances of choking if mistaken as food.
