Study shows 97% of freshwater pet species sold in Germany are non-native, and 22 of these species have already been found in the wild. Many unwanted pet are released to the wild and created threats to native species, causing biodiversity loss. Some high-risk invasive species in Germany include goldfish, guppy and red-rimmed Melania snail.
