In Hōnaunau Bay, Hawaii, coral reefs are threaten by rising number of sea urchins and putting the ecosystems at risk. Overfishing around Hawaii resulted in 45% drop in fish biomass. With less predatory fish like triggerfish and wrasses that prey on sea urchins, there are more sea urchins feeding on and destroying the coral reefs.
