The largest nuclear plant in France temporarily shut down due to numerous jellyfish clogging the cooling system pumps. Experts explain that climate change allows jellyfish to thrive and reproduce, while overfishing removes some of their natural predators, such as tuna. In addition, the introduction of invasive species like the Asian moon jellyfish—first sighted in the area in 2020—has contributed to the problem.
