Some locals in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan held a crow sashimi tasting event, claiming that it is a local food culture in the area, and that the crows found locally feed on sweet photo skins, therefore, their meat have the taste of sweet potatoes. There is no law in Japan that prohibits the consumption of crows, but a hunting license is required to hunt crows; the local health department also stated that eating raw crow meat has a high risk of poisoning.
