In California, four dams along the Klamath River were removed to restore the river ecosystem, allowing species like the salmons to migrate again. These dams were built between 1918-1962 for generating electricity. After the removal, the project will replant native vegetation and reshape the river channel to improve habitats for salmons and other species as well as monitoring program to record and track fish migrations.
